For the Marinade:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the Stir Fry:
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- STEP 1: MARINATE THE STEAK AND SHRIMP – In a bowl, combine soy sauce and cornstarch. Add the sliced flank steak and shrimp, mix well, and marinate for 15-20 minutes.
- STEP 2: COOK THE STEAK – Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Cook the steak for 2-3 minutes until browned, then set aside.
- STEP 3: COOK THE SHRIMP – Add more oil to the skillet if needed. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- STEP 4: STIR FRY THE VEGETABLES – Sauté bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp. Add garlic and ginger, cook for another minute.
- STEP 5: COMBINE AND SERVE – Return meat to the skillet with vegetables. Toss together and cook for 1 minute. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
