Ingredients

Scale

Ground Beef Mixture

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

Garlic Veggies

  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1/2 zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

Other

  • 1 cup steamed white rice

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Wash and chop all the vegetables. Mince the garlic and measure out all sauces and seasonings to have everything ready.
  2. Cook Garlic in Sesame Oil: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the sesame oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  3. Brown Ground Beef: Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it into small pieces while cooking. Continue until the beef is thoroughly browned.
  4. Season and Simmer Beef: Stir in soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar. Allow the mixture to simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Sauté Garlic for Veggies: In a separate pan, heat olive oil and add minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Cook Mushrooms: Add sliced mushrooms to the pan and sauté for 2 minutes.
  7. Stir-Fry Remaining Vegetables: Add broccoli florets, zucchini slices, and red bell pepper strips to the pan. Stir-fry for 4 to 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp. Add soy sauce and toss well to combine.
  8. Assemble Bowl: Place hot steamed white rice in bowls. Arrange the spicy ground beef and garlicky vegetables over the rice either side by side or neatly on top.
  9. Serve with Extra Sauce: Spoon any extra sauce from the beef over the bowls to add extra flavor and moisture.

Notes

  • Adjust chili flakes according to your spice preference.
  • Use brown rice or cauliflower rice for a healthier alternative.
  • Make sure not to overcook vegetables to keep their crunch and nutrients.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated.
  • For added texture, sprinkle sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving.
