Dough:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Mix-Ins:
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (substitute with pecans or almonds if preferred)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted, for drizzling)
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Add the Mix-Ins: Gently fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Shape into balls and place on a baking sheet. Press mini marshmallows on top of each cookie.
- Bake and Top: Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes. Melt remaining chocolate chips and drizzle over cooled cookies.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try using dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
