Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

Filling

  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking, and set it aside.
  2. Mix Filling Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, melted unsalted butter, pure vanilla extract, and the large egg. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended. Reserve 2 tablespoons of this mixture to brush on later.
  3. Incorporate Pecans: Add the chopped pecans into the remaining sugar mixture in the bowl. Stir until the pecans are evenly coated with the sweet filling base.
  4. Assemble Rolls: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon about 2 to 3 tablespoons of the pecan filling onto the widest end of each triangle. Carefully roll each triangle from the wide end toward the narrow end to form crescent shapes.
  5. Initial Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the rolls for 8 minutes. This step helps the filling set and the dough start to cook through.
  6. Glaze and Finish Baking: Remove the rolls from the oven and brush each crescent roll with the reserved 2 tablespoons of the sugar mixture for a glossy, sweet finish. Return them to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the crescent rolls are lightly golden brown.
  7. Optional Garnish: After baking, take the rolls out of the oven and if desired, sprinkle extra chopped pecans on top to add crunch and enhance the pecan flavor. Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • The reserved sugar mixture glaze adds a beautiful shine and extra sweetness to the rolls.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • Chopped pecans can be lightly toasted beforehand to deepen their flavor if preferred.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days; reheat before serving.
  • For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with a plant-based alternative.
