Enjoy a fun and kid-friendly twist on the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich with these PB&J “Sushi Rolls.” Soft bread is spread with creamy peanut butter and sweet strawberry fruit spread, rolled into spirals, and sliced into bite-sized pinwheels—perfect for lunchboxes, snacks, or parties.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoons Squeeze™ Strawberry Fruit Spread (or Smucker’s® Natural Strawberry Squeezable Fruit Spread)
  • 2 tablespoons Jif® Squeeze Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 2 slices of white sandwich bread

Instructions

  1. Prep bread: Remove crusts from the bread slices. Using a rolling pin, large soup can, or your fingertips, gently flatten each slice to make it easier to roll without tearing.
  2. Add spreads: Spread about 2 teaspoons of strawberry fruit spread evenly onto each slice of bread. Then, spread 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter over the fruit spread on each slice.
  3. Shape “sushi”: Roll each slice of bread tightly into a spiral. Once rolled, cut each spiral into 3 equal pieces to create pinwheel sushi rolls. Optionally, use a bit of peanut butter to stick one end of each piece to a plate to help maintain its shape.

Notes

  • Use sandwich bread that is soft and fresh for easier rolling.
  • Crust removal is optional but helps create a neater roll appearance.
  • Customize with different flavors of fruit spreads or nut butters if desired.
  • These make great finger foods for kids’ parties or lunchboxes.
  • Consume soon after preparation for optimal freshness.
