For the beef:

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles: Prepare the noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Sear the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Add aromatics: Stir in garlic and ginger, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, and water or broth.
  5. Cook the beef: Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef. Stir and cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Finish the dish: Add crushed red pepper flakes if using, then toss in the cooked noodles. Stir to coat the noodles with the sauce and beef.
  7. Garnish and serve: Top with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
