This refreshing Mango Iced Tea combines robust black tea with the sweet, tropical flavor of ripe mango. Sweetened with honey and served chilled over ice, it’s a perfect thirst-quencher for warm days that brings a vibrant twist to classic iced tea.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 2 Black Tea Bags (or 2 tsp loose leaf tea)
  • 2 cups Water (for steeping)
  • Ice, as needed

Mango Puree

  • 1 Ripe Mango (or frozen mango cubes), diced
  • 2 cups Water (for simmering)

Sweetener

  • 2 tbsp Honey

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Boil 2 cups of water and pour it into a large pitcher with the 2 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 10 minutes to extract a rich flavor.
  2. Prepare Mango Puree: While the tea steeps, heat 2 cups of water in a saucepan along with the diced mango. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, mashing the mango occasionally to create a thick puree.
  3. Combine and Sweeten: Strain the mango mixture into the pitcher with the steeped tea to remove pulp and mango fibers. Add 2 tablespoons of honey and stir well until fully dissolved.
  4. Chill and Serve: Allow the tea to cool down to room temperature, then refrigerate to chill. Serve the mango iced tea over ice cubes, garnished with fresh mango slices if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust honey to taste if you prefer a sweeter or less sweet tea.
  • Using ripe mangoes gives the best natural sweetness and flavor.
  • For stronger tea flavor, steep the tea bags a few minutes longer but avoid bitterness.
  • This recipe can be stored refrigerated for up to 2 days.
  • Feel free to substitute black tea with green tea for a different flavor profile.
