Ingredients

Scale

For the Ginger Base

  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 2 ½ ounces lemon juice (juice of 1 lemon), freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons water

To Serve

  • 16 ounces sparkling water (carbonated water)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Squeeze the lemon: Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice to yield approximately 2 ½ ounces of fresh lemon juice.
  2. Combine ingredients in blender: Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, peeled and grated fresh ginger, honey, and water to a blender.
  3. Blend the mixture: Blend all ingredients together until well combined.
  4. Strain the mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine strainer to remove the ginger pulp for a smooth ginger ale base.
  5. Prepare to serve: Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  6. Assemble the drink: Pour the strained ginger mixture over the ice, then top with sparkling water to add fizz.
  7. Mix and serve: Stir gently to combine, and enjoy your refreshing homemade ginger ale immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of honey according to your desired sweetness.
  • Use fresh ginger for the best flavor and natural spice.
  • For a stronger ginger kick, increase the ginger quantity slightly.
  • If you prefer a flat drink, omit the sparkling water and use still water instead.
  • Chilling the ginger mixture before adding sparkling water can make the drink even more refreshing.
