  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 large red onion, grated or finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or almond flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Tzatziki:

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey and minced garlic. Grate the red onion into the turkey or chop finely.
  2. Add egg, breadcrumbs, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 14 meatballs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for 7-8 minutes, turning constantly until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Prepare the Tzatziki while the meatballs are cooking.
  6. Serve the meatballs over rice with a dollop of Tzatziki.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the seasoning of the meatballs to suit your taste preferences.
  • For a lower-carb option, you can skip the breadcrumbs and use almond flour instead.
