For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground turkey (93/7 lean)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 large red onion, grated or finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or almond flour
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
- 1/2 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Tzatziki:
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey and minced garlic. Grate the red onion into the turkey or chop finely.
- Add egg, breadcrumbs, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Form the mixture into 14 meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for 7-8 minutes, turning constantly until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Prepare the Tzatziki while the meatballs are cooking.
- Serve the meatballs over rice with a dollop of Tzatziki.
