Ingredients

Seeds

  • Whole flax seeds – 1 cup
  • Pumpkin seeds – ¾ cup
  • Sunflower seeds – ¾ cup
  • Hemp seeds – ½ cup

Other Ingredients

  • Warm water – 1 cup
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (180°C) and allow it to reach the temperature while you prepare the mixture.
  2. Combine seeds and water: In a mixing bowl, mix together the flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds, warm water, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Rest the mixture: Stir the ingredients well and let the mixture rest for 10–15 minutes until it thickens and develops a gel-like consistency.
  4. Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly brush the surface with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Spread the seed mixture: Evenly spread the thick seed mixture over the parchment paper, making sure to create a thin, uniform layer for even baking.
  6. Brush with olive oil: Lightly brush the top of the seed layer with a little more olive oil to help achieve a crisp texture.
  7. Bake the crackers: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes until the surface is dry and the edges are slightly golden.
  8. Cool down: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the crackers to cool completely to firm up.
  9. Break into pieces: Once cooled, break the large sheet into individual cracker-sized pieces ready to serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the seed mixture is spread thinly and evenly to promote even baking and crispiness.
  • You can customize the flavor by adding herbs or spices such as garlic powder, rosemary, or chili flakes into the mixture.
  • Store the crackers in an airtight container to keep them crisp for up to one week.
  • If you prefer a nutty flavor, toast the seeds lightly before mixing.
