Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Mixture

  • 14.3 oz package (36 cookies) Golden Oreos, crushed into crumbs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature

Candy Coating and Decoration

  • 10 oz white candy coating
  • Additional 1 oz of white candy coating per color, for decorating
  • Gel icing colors

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Add the Golden Oreo cookies to a food processor or blender and crush them into fine crumbs, preparing the base for the cookie mixture.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the crushed cookie crumbs until well combined and dough-like; it should be easy to form into balls.
  3. Shape Eggs: Using about 1 1/2 tablespoons of the mixture per egg, form the mixture into Easter egg shapes with your hands.
  4. Chill Cookie Eggs: Place the shaped eggs on a tray and refrigerate them for about 1 hour to firm up, making them easier to dip.
  5. Melt Candy Coating and Dip: Melt the 10 ounces of white candy coating. Using a toothpick inserted into each chilled cookie egg’s bottom, dip each egg fully into the melted candy coating. Gently shake off any excess coating, place the egg on parchment paper to dry, and twist and remove the toothpick delicately. Use a dab of candy coating to fill in the hole left by the toothpick.
  6. Decorate: Melt additional white candy coating one color at a time and mix in gel icing colors until desired shades are achieved. Use about 1 ounce of white candy coating per color. Pipe or drizzle these colorful coatings over the dried Oreo eggs to decorate creatively.
  7. Store: Once decorated and dried, store the Oreo eggs in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for about 1 week.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking while drying the dipped eggs.
  • You can customize the colors and decorations to match your holiday theme.
  • Do not skip chilling the shaped cookie balls; it helps the coating set better.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
