Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 3 cloves garlic (chopped or whole)
  • 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup
  • 3/4 cup chicken stock
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 0.6 ounces Italian dressing mix (such as Good Seasons)

Pasta

  • 1 pound angel hair pasta

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crockpot: Spray the inside of the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Add Chicken and Garlic: Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into the crockpot, then add the chopped or whole garlic cloves on top.
  3. Soften Butter and Cream Cheese: In a microwave-safe bowl, soften the butter and cream cheese by microwaving until they are easy to whisk together.
  4. Mix the Sauce: Whisk the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Then, incorporate the cream of chicken soup (undiluted), Italian dressing mix, and chicken stock. Whisk well until the sauce is smooth and combined.
  5. Combine and Cook: Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the chicken breasts in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the chicken to become tender.
  6. Optional Shred: About 30 minutes before cooking is finished, shred the chicken breasts with two forks inside the crockpot to allow the meat to soak in the sauce further.
  7. Cook Pasta: Just before the chicken is done, cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions. Drain thoroughly.
  8. Serve: Plate the cooked angel hair pasta and spoon the creamy crockpot chicken and sauce over the top. Enjoy warm.

Notes

  • You can adjust the garlic amount according to your preference for milder or stronger garlic flavor.
  • Using full-fat cream cheese and butter adds richness to the sauce, but you can use lighter versions if desired.
  • For a thicker sauce, shred the chicken earlier and let it cook longer in the sauce.
  • Leftovers keep well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
  • If you prefer, substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts for juicier results.
