Streusel Filling:

  • 3 Tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Crumb Topping:

  • ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup butter, cubed
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Drizzle Topping:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2½ teaspoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9 by 9-inch baking dish with 2-inch sides.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients.
  3. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, egg, and buttermilk.
  4. Combine Batter: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Layer Batter: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared dish.
  6. Streusel Filling: In a small bowl, mix softened butter, cinnamon, flour, and brown sugar. Sprinkle over the first cake layer.
  7. Second Layer: Spread the remaining cake batter over the streusel.
  8. Crumb Topping: Combine cold butter, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Sprinkle over the second batter layer.
  9. Bake: Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
