This Cinnamon Applesauce Quick Bread is a moist and flavorful treat perfect for breakfast or a snack. Made with unsweetened applesauce and warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie spice, it’s an easy-to-make bread that requires no yeast and comes together quickly. The bread is tender, lightly sweet, and full of cozy autumn flavors, baked to golden perfection in a loaf pan or mini loaf pans.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup applesauce (unsweetened preferred)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or five mini loaf pans to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the applesauce, sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and milk until well combined and smooth.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, and salt to the wet mixture.
  4. Combine Batter: Stir the batter gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the bread tender.
  5. Pour and Bake: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan(s). Bake mini loaves for approximately 30 minutes or the large loaf for about 60 minutes.
  6. Check Doneness and Cool: Insert a toothpick in the center; if it comes out clean, remove the bread from the oven. Allow the bread to cool slightly before removing from the pan and serving.

Notes

  • Use unsweetened applesauce for better control over the sweetness, but sweetened applesauce also works.
  • Mini loaf pans reduce baking time and make perfect portion-sized breads.
  • Do not overmix the batter to ensure a moist and tender crumb.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Optional: Add chopped nuts or raisins for added texture and flavor.
