Ingredients

Scale

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 12 ounce jar sliced pickled jalapeños (drain and reserve the juice)
  • 1/4 cup tomatillo sauce
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (or more to taste)
  • 1 ounce packet Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
  • 1/21 teaspoon garlic salt (amount as desired)

Instructions

  1. Drain Jalapeños: Situate a colander inside a bowl and drain the sliced pickled jalapeños, reserving the liquid for later use.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Add the drained jalapeños, 2 tablespoons of the reserved pickled jalapeño juice, tomatillo sauce, sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, chopped cilantro, Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix, and garlic salt to a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture is completely and smoothly incorporated.
  3. Adjust Flavor: Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning to your preference by adding lime juice for extra tanginess, more pickled or fresh jalapeños for increased heat, or additional ranch mix or garlic salt for bolder flavor.
  4. Chill the Sauce: Transfer the creamy jalapeño sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier sauce, add fresh jalapeños or extra pickled jalapeños.
  • Lime juice can be added to boost tanginess further.
  • This creamy jalapeño sauce works well as a dip, dressing, or topping for grilled meats and tacos.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to one week.
