  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add room temperature butter and blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Make a well in the center of the mixture, pour in milk, and mix until dough forms (it will be sticky). Rest dough for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Knead and Shape: Knead dough briefly on a floured surface, then roll out to 3/4″ thickness. Cut into rounds or squares.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Indent the tops of the biscuits, brush with egg and milk mixture.
  6. Bake: Bake at 425 degrees F for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Finish and Serve: Brush with melted butter, then serve warm.
