Dry Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup butter (room temperature)
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add room temperature butter and blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Make a well in the center of the mixture, pour in milk, and mix until dough forms (it will be sticky). Rest dough for 2-3 minutes.
- Knead and Shape: Knead dough briefly on a floured surface, then roll out to 3/4″ thickness. Cut into rounds or squares.
