4.8 from 51 reviews

Aunt Linda’s Strawberry Banana Freezer Fluff is a delightful, airy frozen dessert combining the natural sweetness of frozen strawberries and bananas with creamy vanilla yogurt and whipped topping. It’s easy to make with a blender or food processor and perfect for a refreshing, healthy treat that scoops like ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 2 cups frozen sliced strawberries
  • 2 medium ripe bananas, sliced and frozen

Dairy

  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla yogurt (regular or Greek)
  • 1 (8-ounce) tub whipped topping, thawed

Other Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons granulated sugar or honey (optional, to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan – Lightly spray a glass loaf pan with nonstick spray or grease it lightly and then wipe out any excess so the pan is just barely coated. This helps the fluff release easily for serving later.
  2. Pulse Frozen Fruit – Add the frozen strawberries and frozen banana slices to a blender or food processor. Pulse a few times to break the fruit into small chunks so it blends smoothly.
  3. Blend Ingredients – Add vanilla yogurt, vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, and 2 tablespoons of sugar or honey (if using) to the blender. Blend until mostly smooth and pale pink with a few small fruit pieces remaining for texture. Taste and add the optional remaining tablespoon of sweetener if a sweeter dessert is desired.
  4. Fold in Whipped Topping – Transfer the fruit-yogurt mixture into a large bowl. Gently fold in the softened whipped topping with a spatula, rotating the bowl and folding to keep the mixture airy and evenly combined without over-stirring.
  5. Freeze Mixture – Pour the fluff into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top evenly with a spoon or spatula. Cover tightly with plastic wrap or foil and place in the freezer for at least 4 hours or until firm enough to scoop.
  6. Serve – When ready to enjoy, remove from freezer and let sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes to soften slightly. Scoop with an ice cream scoop or large spoon and serve immediately, returning leftovers to the freezer stored tightly.

Notes

  • Use frozen fruit for best texture and ease of blending.
  • You can substitute honey for granulated sugar to sweeten naturally.
  • Greek yogurt will make the fluff thicker and add protein.
  • Letting the fluff rest slightly at room temperature before scooping improves texture.
  • Lightly greasing the pan ensures easy removal of fluff servings.
